If some luxury companies are already ahead of the concept, this time - and it would be a first - the beds in the planes would not be a privilege only reserved for first class but also for small budgets. Youhouuu!
The seats on the plane are rarely comfortable:no room for the legs, unbearable back pain, impossible to sleep, in short, nothing very cocooning. The company Formation Design seems to have found the solution to the problem (and heard our complaints) since it is at the initiative of the project of beds within the planes. Specialized in the fields of design, space planning and innovation, she imagined this system of berths in the cabin. And it would not only be a question of replacing the seats with beds but of rethinking the interior interface of the machine from A to Z. Clearly, the classic armchairs would be replaced by standard-size berth spaces below even larger beds.
The idea is not new. Luxury airlines have already tested the concept. Among them, the national company of the United Arab Emirates Etihad Airways equips some of its airbuses with studios with a surface area of almost 12 m². With, please, double bed 1.20 m wide, seating area and shower included! And we're not talking about the personal butler made available to passengers throughout the flight... A kind of super ultra first class! The privilege (for which it costs around 24,000 euros) is only granted on board the company's ten A380s. The national company Air France has also decided to bet on the idea of the seat-bed since it has already adopted the concept for its first classes. Thus, in 44 Boeing 777s, real horizontal berths of more than 2 m are installed with 1.47 m curtains allowing the cabin to be closed and a comfortable journey to be made in complete privacy. That's not all, a 100% HD touch screen is available to customers. For once, comfort, there is!
