The Hoppa site, specializing in air transport, has unveiled, as every year, the list of the most expensive and least expensive destinations in the world. 84 cities are ranked according to the average price of a night spent per person, which takes into account the price of a hotel room for two, a meal for two with a bottle of wine, a coffee, a cocktail, a beer, and a taxi ride. Added to all this, this ranking also includes the price of key tourist attractions and tourist buses. From the streets of Johannesburg in South Africa to those of kyiv in Egypt, here are the most affordable destinations in the world in 2017.
For this year, the ten least expensive cities in the world are as follows (in ascending order of price):Sofia (Bulgaria), Cairo (Egypt), Cartagena de Indias (Colombia), Bucharest (Romania), Antalya (Turkey) , Siem Reap (Cambodia), kyiv (Ukraine), Manila (Philippines), Mexico City (Mexico) and Sliema (Malta). To stay in these cities, it will be necessary to count on average 50 € per day and per person. Whether you prefer Eastern Europe or South America, we're packing our bags!
In the top 20 least expensive cities, we find cities like Kampala (Uganda – 12th), Mecca (Saudi Arabia – 15th), Bangkok (Thailand – 16th), Bombay (India – 18th) or Jakarta (Indonesia – 20th). It is noted that among these twenty cities, there are often capitals of Southeast Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. On the other hand, if you really want to shake the bank account, head to Zurich (Switzerland), New York (United States of America) or Copenhagen (Denmark)! Of course, you have to keep in mind that everything depends on how you stay:a room to rent in Zurich will always be cheaper than a palace in Antalya.
