Many see the arrival of spring as a sign that summer is fast approaching. The days are getting longer, the mildness is returning, the terraces are reopening and already we imagine our feet in the water sipping our glass of rosé in mid-July. But why wait until then when you can treat yourself to a break that will make the wait less frustrating? The online travel search specialist KAYAK conducted the survey and unearthed the cheapest and most advantageous destinations – yes, unlike our pretty France, the sun and mild temperatures are already present there – to be selected at spring. In Europe, Madrid is the preferred option:it takes an average of €98 for a round trip in economy class and the Spanish capital still ranks 3rd on the list of the trendiest destinations. It is preceded by Rome (2nd) and Lisbon (1st), where return flights cost €143 and €140 respectively. In the ranking of the most economical sunny destinations, Madrid is followed by Faro, in the south of Portugal, with a round trip at 114 € and Venice (125 €). After Lisbon and Rome in 4th and 5th position, Palermo (€160) and Budapest (€166) are perfectly suited to small budgets. Lovers of Greece should take advantage of an express round trip to Athens before the summer, since its price does not exceed €207.
Trendy European destinations not yet mentioned include Heraklion in Crete (€235) and Dubrovnik in Croatia (€204). We leave the continent for international stopovers, and it is North Africa that offers the best compromise between low prices and sunshine. Temperatures close to 30 degrees in Tunis, Marrakech and Cairo in the spring are a dream, as are the prices of flights, respectively at 169, 221 and 322 €. The festive Dubai and Miami are also economical:384 € round trip for the first, 473 € for the second. These are also ranked respectively in 2nd and 3rd place among the trendiest world destinations behind Bangkok with a return flight at 498 € on average. The list of popular cities is completed by Tunis, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia (€485), Sydney (€837), Dakar (€453), Lima in Peru (€758), Marrakech and Mexico City (€609). It's going to be difficult to choose... What's certain is that it made us want to do a good cure of vitamin D on the beach, didn't you?
